Day 1: Jayapura Wamena In the morning arrival in Jayapura and take short flight to Wamena. Lunch and visit of local market in Wamena. Transfer to THE BALIEM VALLEY RESORT. Dinner at the Resort. Day 2: Trekking Trekking with tents / Start in the morning by car to Uwosilimo. Start trekking to Wolo, tentcamp in Wolo. Guests will be accompanied by 1 guide, 1 cook and minimum 2 porters. Along the way we see all kind of local agricultural fields, small Villages and local huts. Tentcamp close to the village, maybe on a local schoolground. Day 3: Trekking More further trekking in WOLO area to remote Dani Village, tentcamp. Day 4: Trekking Trekking to WOSIALA (Dani hamlet), tentcamp in Wosiala. Day 5: Trekking, pig cooking, resort In the morning traditional pigfestival in Wosiala. Many dressed up clanmembers in traditional costumes celebrate the party with us. A pig-festival with the hot stones and the earth pits is probably the most interesting thing to see on a travel to Irian Jaya. Photographers and movie makers will totally be satisfied to day. The unique of such an event can hardly be described by words. You have to see it with your own eyes. Lunch will be inside the hamlet. Of course there is also the opportunity for each guest to eat out of the traditional earth pit. The fresh pig meat and the sweet potatoes taste delicious. Pick up by car in early afternoon, drive to Resort. Dinner + overnight at THE BALIEM VALLEY RESORT. Day 6: Wamena Jayapura Transfer to Wamena and short flight to Jayapura. Upon arrival, direct city sightseeing tour Jayapura or optional tour Lake Sentani with lunch enroute. Overnight at simple local hotel in Sentani.(On surcharge overnight possible in Jayapura City at Hotel Permati or best hotel in town, Swiss BelHotel.) Day 7: Departure Transfer to the airport, departure to your next destination.
