Come and pend some days full of unforgettable impressions with a young family of the Dani clan in the beautiful highlands in Papua/Indonesia.
Starting point of this unique adventure is the THE
BALIEM VALLEY RESORT, an approved eco resort, located close to Wamena in the famous Baliem Valley of
West-Papua. From the resort you will start by foot together with your guide, cook and porter right into the Stone Age. After 4-5 hours walk, you will reach your host
family, a traditionally living Dani clan. There you will spend your nights in your tent inside the spacious cook house of the family and experience all their every day
activities at close range. You can watch and accompany the work of the men (i. a. felling wood, hunting, preparing fields etc.) as well as the daily work of the women
(diverse works on the fields, provide the children, collect fruits, herd animals etc.). Most of these people are still living at the stage of neolithic farmers and gatherers.
They aren’t poor or needy. Rather the opposite is true, their perfect assimilation to nature and magnificent environment guarantee enough food and a certain kind of
happiness. There are only problems due to missing medical supply. But they know traditionally experienced methods of healing and treatment (e. g. fractures, open
wounds, every day infections). During your stay at the Stone Age Farm, your companions take care of your well-being and always endeavour to make your stay in
this unusual and absolutely strange area as pleasant as possible. At the nearby river you will wash and take a bath, the small toilet house is located outside the hamlet
settlement. Meals and drinks are prepared at the open fire place inside the cooking hut. Of course you can actively support your companions, e. g. by collecting fire wood, bringing fresh
water from the river etc. You must learn to organize yourself completely new to succeed in this life under stone age conditions. This is absolutely challenging for our
kind of modern people!
After this intense immersion into this world of a forgotten time you will see a lot of your upcoming life with completely different eyes. Annoying everyday problems of
our western civilization will become insignificant and small. You will never forget this excursion and insight into this real existing natural museum!

Departure from Frankfurt to Indonesia.

2. day:

Around noon arrival in Bali/Indonesia. Transfer to Hotel IDA. Rest of day no program.

3. day:

Early in the morning departure to Jayapura, the capital of Papua Province. After short transit, connecting flight to Wamena in the highlands. Welcome by
our resort staff and transfer to THE
BALIEM VALLEY RESORT.

4. day:
|
Daytour in and around Wamena. Last preparations and shopping for our stay at the Stone Age Farm. Overnight at the resort.

5. day:
|
Today start with your escort (guide, cook, 1 porter p. person) to the selected Stone Age Farm. The trekking starts directly from the resort, leading deep into
the mountains of the eastern valley barrier, further on to isolated traditional hamlets of the Dani. In the afternoon we will reach our destination. Together with our
escort we decide where to raise our tents for the next 6 nights.

Free day for reflection and slow preparation for the farewell of the beautiful Papua highlands.

Transfer to airport and flight to Jayapura. Transfer to Hotel PERMATA, centrally located in Jayapura City. Free day.

In the morning transfer to the airport and departure to Denpasar/Bali. Transfer to Hotel IDA. Free day.

In the afternoon transfer to airport and flight back to Frankfurt.

Please note:
Passport has to be valid minimum 6 months at entry. Please check with your embassy about the visa procedure. At entry to Papua, each participant must bring 2
pass fotos for the surat jalan (travel permit for Papua).
