Barnabas Suebu, born in 1946 in Sentani/Northwest coast of  Papua, was re-elected as Governor of Papua for the term of 2006-2011. After his first governorship of Papua, from 1988-1993, Barnabas Suebu was ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Mexico, Honduras and Panama.

Mr. Suebu is a very active man, internationally famous by his commitment to environment and climate protection. For his great merits he was invested by the TIME Magazin in November 2007 as "HERO OF ENVIRONMENT" (together with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel)!

On March 8th, 2009 the PAPUA PROMOTION HOUSE EUROPE was inaugurated by Barnabas Suebu in Gelnhausen-Meerholz / Germany, close to the geographic centre point of the European Union.
